This year, I applied (and was accepted!!!) for a paid summer internship at my dad's company for high school and undergraduate students. So I'm going to walk you through the process
The first step was the resume. I had a resume from a previous application and I revamped that resume by updating it with new information and fixing the aesthetics. At the very top of the page, I included my phone number, email, and address. Underneath, I split up my resume into a few different sections: Co-curricular Activities, Leadership Positions and Roles, Community Activities, Work Experience, Awards and Honors, and finally Academic Information. In each of these sections, I listed the different accomplishments or activities with a short description depending on the complexity.
After my resume passed the first round, I moved on to the interview round. Now, I'm not entirely sure how this round worked but there are two different ways it could have happened. The first is that all four interviews were all part of one round. The second is that the first interview was another round and I had to get passed that in order to move on to the other interviews -- this is what I think happened. After my first interview with the HR lady, she gave me the information for my last three interviews. There were two positions that I applied for with the interview, the first one had one interview and the second one had two interviews.
There are a few tips that I have for phone interviews:
I'm not sure if I got the internship yet as I just finished my last interview yesterday, but I will find out next week and I really hope I got the second position.
UPDATE: I got the internship, so make sure that you follow these tips!
