This is a super quick and easy watercolor card that is perfect for any friends or family members with upcoming birthdays!
First, as usual, start off with a sketch of what you want the card to look like. I originally wanted to add black lines as shadows on the letters like I did on this card, but I decided it didn't go that well with the color and made it harder to read 'birthday'.
After you finish your sketch, cut out your piece of water color paper and draw some light guide lines so that you can write 'birthday' slanted.
Next, using those guides, fill in the parallelogram and when it is dry, carefully write 'HAPPY' along the slant and you're done!
I don't think I made my slant slanted enough so it does look a bit like the slant was not purposeful. I would recommend making the slant for both the 'HAPPY' and the 'birthday' steeper or only making the 'HAPPY' part slanted. I also would not recommend using too much pigment when writing out 'birthday' because it causes a thin crust to develop on the sides.
